Facelift Honolulu

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a total of 118,414 facelift Honolulu procedures were performed in the United States in 2007, projecting a 14 percent increase from 2006.

Medically known as rhytidectomy, facelift Honolulu is a surgical procedure that removes the signs of aging on the face and neck by repositioning facial skin and tightening underlying muscles and connective tissues. Specific conditions that can be improved through facelift Honolulu include sagging cheeks, creases on the lower lid and from the nose to the mouth, jowls on the lower area of the face, and, loose skin under the chin and jaw.

On the other hand, facelift Honolulu doesn’t correct all facial problems and eliminate all facial wrinkles. Facelift Honolulu surgery may be performed with other facial procedures like neck lift, eyelid surgery, and brow lift to achieve optimum results.

There are a number of available facelift Honolulu varieties that a patient can choose from. The surgeon usually informs the patient of the differences among the methods and recommends the best treatment that one can avail. The main types of facelift Honolulu include:

The SMAS lift – the most comprehensive method since it lifts not just the top layers but also the deeper tissues of the face and neck (called SMAS tissues)

Deep plane lift – goes deeper than a traditional SMAS lift
\
Short scar facelift Honolulu – a more limited facelift Honolulu done with a small incision to support the smile lines and jowls and tighten a moderate amount of loose skin

Endoscopic facelift Honolulu – uses an endoscope to make smaller incisions, hence, has less down time and side effects

Mid-facelift Honolulu – uses small cuts inside the mouth and the hairline area to reposition cheekbones

Thread lift – a non-surgical facelift Honolulu treatment

Secondary facelift Honolulu – addresses the areas that a facelift Honolulu does not cover to be able to have a more consistent appearance

Traditional facelift Honolulu treatments usually take two to four hours. Facelift Honolulu begins with an incision in the temple area, which continues around the ears and back to the point of origin. This allows the skin to be raised upward and enables the surgeon to tighten and reposition loose muscles and tissues. Once done, excess skin and fat can be removed and sutures can be made to close the incision.

Swelling and bruising are unavoidable after facelift Honolulu surgery. Cold compress is often recommended. A patient may also feel pain and discomfort but can be controlled through medication. Dressing and drainage tubes are usually removed one to two days after the surgery. Sutures and staples are removed five to ten days following facelift Honolulu. Most patients return to work after two weeks but vigorous activities are to be restrained for three weeks to allow proper healing.
