Thermage Honolulu

Thermage Honolulu was founded by Dr. Edward Knowlton in 1995. He has authored 20 patents related to radiofrequency technology and invented the device ThermaCool which rooted from the fundamental concepts and research in reverse thermal gradients that pioneered the basis of Thermage Honolulu technology. A project was then launched with a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Dr. Ketih Mullowny and with the help of a team of scientists and engineers, ThermaCool1 was developed.

Today, Thermage Honolulu has a total of 33 issued patents and 55 pending applications. Thermage Honolulu is now performed by over 2000 physicians in seventy countries including the USA, United Kingdom, and Thailand.

Thermage Honolulu is one of the latest advancements in cosmetic surgery. Thermage Honolulu is a safe and clinically proven procedure to tighten and contour skin to provide a healthier collagen after a single treatment. Thermage Honolulu uses Capacitive Radiofrequency (CFA) which makes it a non-invasive treatment, sparing the patient from surgery and injections. Effects are visible in the soonest possible time while improvements are noticeable up to six months. With Thermage Honolulu, the results can last for years but can vary on the patient’s skin condition and aging process.

Thermage Honolulu is safer than laser procedures. Only mild side effects such as swelling, redness, bumps, blisters on or around the treated area are common incidences reported but the side effects immediately disappear in a few days or weeks. An estimated 275,000 Thermage Honolulu treatments were conducted in 2007 and less than one percent was reported as a bad case of side effects.

Thermage Honolulu poses a number of advantages over the other treatments such as fillers, surgery, lasers, and Botox. Thermage Honolulu is the only one that rejuvenates the three layers of the skin, which are the epidermis, dermis, and the subcutaneous layer also known as the fat layer.

The Thermage Honolulu procedure is normally done in a single treatment that takes 20 minutes to two hours depending on the treatment area. Thermage Honolulu procedures are performed by only qualified physicians who specialize in cosmetic procedures.

Thermage Honolulu is a painless procedure however, during the procedure, a person could experience a brief, deep heating sensation as the Capacitive Radiofrequency (CFA) energy is rendered directly to a the skin and underlying tissue. The deep heating sensation indicates that the collagen has reached an effective temperature needed for the tightening of the skin. During the Thermage Honolulu procedure controlled amount of energy is rendered to balance comfort and its maximum result. Standard procedures like cooling the ThermaTip, which is a part of the device used for Thermage Honolulu, before, during, and after heating protects the skin which makes the treatment more comfortable. An anesthetic cream may or may not be applied prior to the treatment to enhance the patient’s comfort. Physicians who perform Thermage Honolulu may also prescribe relaxants or pain medications.
